Fathers Fulfilling Their Calling in Christ Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-18; Luke 24:46-49; Acts 1:4-5;6-7
Matthew 28:18-20
I. What to do.
1. Use all authority that has been given to us
(1) In heaven
(2) In earth
God has given us the power to go forward. If we stand on faith we will succeed.
2. We are to make disciples of all nationalities.
(1) Baptizing them (baptizo)
(2) Teaching them to obey every command that Jesus gave
3. Realize that the Lord Himself is with us while we are doing His will.
(1) He was with us yesterday
(2) He is with us today
(3) He will be with us tomorrow.
II. How to recognize a believer Mark 16:15-18
1. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved.
2. Signs of a believer:
(1) In the name of Jesus they will drive out demons.
(2) They will speak in new tongues.
(3) They will pick up snakes with their hands. (Qualify)
(4) They will drink deadly poison that will not harm them.
(5) They will place their hands on the sick and they will recover.
III. Prepare for the launch date (get ready to do what we are going to do. Luke 24:46-49
1. Preach repentance and forgiveness to all nations. (No barriers)
2. Be witnesses of what has happened (ie) Christ victory over death and hell, other changed lives, your changed life
3. Get what the Father has promised.
4. Become clothed with power
IV. Display the proper attitude. Acts 1:4-5;7,8
1. Wait for the preparation of the Holy Spirit
2. Don’t concern yourself with times and dates that the Father has set.
3. Get prepared and then go and present the gospel of Christ.
