Not Enough Davids to Go Around 1 Samuel 17:32

Perhaps the reason that there are so many gigantic problems that keep raising their ugly heads in life, is that there is such a lack of Davids who will stand up against them in the name of the Lord.

What got David to the battle front? (20) His father sent him.

What did David see when he got there? (21) He saw fear and depression.

Would you want to give a report like that to your father?

How did his brothers and their fellow warriors receive him? (26-30) They rebuked him.

How did King Saul recieve him? (31-33) He berated him at first and then decided to send him to fight.

Possible reasons:

1. Saul was conceding to defeat and would rather lose a loud mouth kid than one of his warriors.

2. Saul believed that David had been sent by the Lord to deliver Israel form the Philistines.

Conclusion:

We are the army of the Lord.

We need to determine what or who is our Goliath of Gath.

Who will stand up and be a David?
