The God Of Truth

Isaiah 65:6-25

I have often heard people say like, "I'll get even with you" or some other threat of retaliation for what they perceived as an action against them personally.
Well, God does not make vain threats. He will do what He says He will do. When He says something, it is not a threat, it is a promise, and God keeps His promises.
There is an old hymn that we used to sing back when I was growing up that says, "Be not dismayed what er' be tide, God will take care of you." Well there are two ways to understand that old phrase. One is that if you do what God desires, He will take care of you. THe other is that if you do not do what is right in God's sight He will that care of you in that He will see that you get what you deserve.
For those of us who have turned our lives over to Jesus, we don't get what we deserve, we get forgiven.

1. (6-7) God will repay for every evil done.
Sin is any and every wrong that you and I do. It is not just the simple mistake that we make that causes us to spill milk on the dinner table. The proper definition of sin is to miss the mark. Like an archer that tries to hit the bulls-eye in competition and fails. It is a deliberate act that affects either God Himself of another human being made in His image.

2. (8-9) God will spare some.
When there are some good grapes on the vine and some bad ones also, it will not make good sense to destroy all the grapes or the entire vine. What will happen is the salvaging of the good grapes and the destruction of the bad grapes.

3. (10-12) The bad grapes represent the unrepentant people who refuse to follow God in Christ.

4. (13-14) There is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun.
Provision of food - hunger
“ “ drink - thirst
rejoicing - shame
adoption - disowning, disinherited

5. (16) Blessing is in the God of Truth.
Sins are forgiven.

6. (17-25) All things are new.
