"El-Roi, The God Who Sees Me"

Genesis 16:7-14 “El – Roi , The God Who Sees Me”

Sarah made a decision to give Hagar (her handmaid) to Abraham so that she could bare him a son to carry on the family name.

1. Whenever we try to manipulate circumstances to assist God in keeping His promises, we tend to mess things up for ourselves as well as others.

Abraham’s life got…Messed up!
Hagar’s life got…….Messed up!
Sarah’s life got……..Messed Up!

Sarah was upset at the presence of Hagar. So Sarah started being mean to her; she treated her so badly that Hagar ran away into the wilderness.

2. Whenever we treat people poorly, God will step in to help them.

Hagar was reassured of God’s care.

Hagar was told to return to Sarah and to submit to her authority. Later on, when Isaac was born to Abraham through Sarah, Sarah insisted that Hagar and Ishmael be sent away. God cared for them and promised that He would bless Ishmael also.

3. Whenever we are earnest and sincere about loving and serving God. He cleans up our messes.

Conclusion:

1. Have you messed up your life in any way?
It could be that you have tried to help God fulfill a dream and got things totally confused.
It could be that you’ve let your passion cause you to sin.
It could be that you have been the victim of someone else’s passion and greed and now you feel the guilt from that experience.

At any rate, if your life is messed up, God can and is willing to clean up your mess; take it to Him today.
